PLOY is a 4-player Coop-game in which the players battle one another to be the last one standing. Each player owns a shape consisting of multiple destructible cubes.
Ever had the desire to get rid of your friends?
Throw explosives at them, dodge attacks and guard your bunker, collect pick ups to gain powers or to sabotage your fellow players.
It's up to if you want to team up with others or just want to rampage against everyone and everything!
To attack another shape one can throw bombs across the split-screen using the cross hairs. If the majority of the structure is destroyed the respective player will die. The saturation of the player screen represents the player health.
Apart from attacking the others, players can also can also rotate their shapes to dodge projectiles and collect Power Ups as well as make use of different events like a defending event or a cube eating bug occuring during play time.
Some of the playable shapes in PLOY
For the shapes it was important to find well balanced structures that on the one side are very sturdy but not too overpowered at the same time.
Evolution of Player shapes and color schemes
First analog prototypes for testing various mechanics like players having another controlable avatar apart from their shape.
During our project time we had multiple occasions to present our game and install playtest booths. This enabled us to collect valuable feedback quite frequently.
